30/8/2021 Story about lockdown.

Everyone sits in the room anxiously, waiting for the prime ministers arrival.

I have my mask over my face, and my notepad in my hand.

I reach into my pocket and grab out a small bottle with hand sanitizer.

I open the bottle and squeeze out some sanitizer into my hands, and rub it in.

I noticed that the door opened. The prime minister walked in.

Journalists scurried over to her, asking questions.

"Ma'am, do you know how long this virus will be around for?"

"What can you tell us about the vaccine?"

"Is the virus really that deadly?"

The quickly walked up to the stage, escaping the questions.

She stood behind the microphone, and began her speech.

"Ki ora Kotou. I am standing here today, to tell you more about the virus."

The camera zoomed in on her face.

"I'd like to thank all the health workers who are helping us all throughout this hard journey.

I know these are hard times..working from home, online school, getting food, but we're all in this together!"

I wrote down all she said on my notepad.

"We can get through this, New Zealand. I know we can."

  1. Morena Sofiya,

Nice post! A very topical blog, and I like that you included direct quotations, I can hear "kia ora kotou" exactly in Jacinda's voice. Well presented, the spacing of your work makes the piece easy to read and it flows nicely. Keep it up!!

Have you been watching the daily updates? Are you going to continue doing some writing around a covid theme?

I look forward to reading more of your work!
